The Glass Case: House rules
Short version: every lot starts at $1, you tell us your max, and the top bid when the clock runs out takes it home.
How the Glass Case works
1. Starts at $1
Every lot. No kidding.
2. Set your max
The case bids for you, one step at a time. Nobody sees your max.
3. Late bids add 2 min
A bid in the last 2 minutes resets the clock. No sniping.
4. Win → pay in 48h
Check out from the lot page. $8.95 shipping or free pickup.
Bids are binding
A bid is a promise to buy at that price if you win. Bid only what you mean.
Proxy bidding
Type the most you’d pay. The case bids for you, one step at a time, only as high as it needs to. Nobody sees your max.
Soft close
A bid in the last 2 minutes pushes that lot’s close to 2 minutes after the bid. No sniping — everybody gets a fair swing.
Hidden reserves
Some lots have a secret minimum. If bidding doesn’t reach it, the lot goes back in the vault. No reserve? The top bid wins — even at $1.
No fees. Ever.
No bid fees, no buyer’s premium. The winning bid is the price, plus shipping and any sales tax.
Staff can’t bid
Shop staff and their families never bid in the Glass Case. No shill bidding, period.
Pay within 48 hours
Winners check out from the lot page within 48 hours of the close. After that the lot may go to the next bidder or be relisted.
